About Mooiehome

A quick introduction to who we are, what we make, and where the fixtures actually come from.

What is Mooiehome?
Mooiehome is a registered United States lighting company headquartered in Manhattan. We design, manufacture, and ship distinctive decorative lighting β€” pendants, chandeliers, sconces, table lamps, and floor lamps β€” to homes, designers, and hospitality projects in 40+ countries. Our entire range is built around the idea that lighting should feel like architecture: quietly considered, beautifully made, and built to outlast a decade of daily use.
Where is your headquarters?
Our office is at 159 W. 25th Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10001 β€” in Manhattan's Chelsea district, a one-block walk from the Flatiron Building. It's a working office (not a virtual mailbox), and trade clients are welcome to visit by appointment.
Where are your products made?
Our fixtures come out of our own manufacturing facility β€” aluminium spinning, brass polishing, glass blowing, wiring, and final QA all happen on a floor we own and operate. The brand on your invoice is recent, but the workshop behind it has more than ten years of focused, traceable operating history.
Where do you ship from?
Stocked items leave our US warehouses on the East and West coasts. Custom and oversized fixtures may ship directly from our manufacturing partners abroad β€” the shipping confirmation will identify the exact origin and carrier so you always know what to expect.
Do you have a physical showroom?
We're a digital-first business by design, which keeps our prices well below traditional lighting retailers. The Chelsea office hosts trade visits and design consultations by appointment. Pair that with our 60-day return policy, and there's effectively no risk in trying a fixture in your own space first.

Placing Your Order

From the moment a fixture goes in your cart to the moment your card clears β€” everything about the buying side.

How do I place an order?
Browse the catalogue, click Add to Cart on any fixture, and head to checkout. Enter your shipping address, choose a payment method, and confirm the order. A confirmation email lands in your inbox within minutes β€” with an estimated ship date and a record of every line item.
Can I cancel or modify my order after placing it?
Within 24 hours of placing the order, almost always. Email support@mooiehome.com with your order number and the change you need. Once the fixture has entered our packing queue (usually the next business day), modifications get harder β€” but we'll always try, and we'll be straight with you either way.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners, JCB, PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay, and Google Pay. Every transaction passes through PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant gateways, with 256-bit SSL encryption from the moment you start typing your card number.
Is checkout secure?
Yes. We run on Shopify's enterprise-grade infrastructure with the same level of payment security used by major banks. Card details are encrypted end-to-end and never stored on our servers β€” they pass straight through to the payment processor.
Will I receive an invoice?
Your order confirmation email serves as the standard invoice. For trade accounts or accountants who need a properly formatted PDF on letterhead, email us with your order number and we'll send a formal invoice within 24 hours.

Shipping & Delivery

Lead times, tracking, international orders, what to do if a box arrives looking the worse for wear.

How long does shipping take?
The answer splits into two cases:

US in-stock items β€” leave our warehouse within 1–3 business days of your order and arrive at your door in another 3–7 business days via FedEx or UPS.

Factory-direct or made-to-order pieces β€” produced specifically for your order, with a typical lead time of 4–8 weeks. The exact production window is shown on each product page and re-confirmed in your order email before any work begins.
Is shipping free?
Standard shipping is complimentary on every order across the United States. International rates are calculated at checkout based on weight and destination. Expedited delivery is also available for an additional fee β€” useful when you need a fixture in time for an event or photo shoot.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes β€” we ship to 40+ countries across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Rates and lead times appear automatically at checkout once you enter the destination. Import duties, VAT, and customs fees are the buyer's responsibility, calculated by the destination country's customs authority.
How do I track my order?
The minute your order leaves our warehouse, you'll receive a shipping confirmation with a live tracking link. Click through to see real-time updates from the carrier β€” from "label created" all the way to "out for delivery."
What if my order arrives damaged?
Photograph both the outer carton and the damaged fixture within 48 hours of delivery, then email the photos plus your order number to support@mooiehome.com. We'll ship a free replacement immediately β€” no return paperwork, no debate.
04

Returns & Refunds

A 60-day window, real human review, and refunds processed the moment your return clears inspection β€” not weeks later.

What's your return policy?
60 days from the delivery date for any in-stock fixture. The piece must be unused, in original packaging, with all hardware and instructions, and in resalable condition. Past 60 days, write to us anyway β€” we handle edge cases on a case-by-case basis.
How do I start a return?
Email support@mooiehome.com with your order number and a one-line reason for the return. Within 24 hours we'll send a confirmation, a return shipping label, and the warehouse address. Tape the label on the original carton and drop it off β€” that's the entire process.
Who pays for return shipping?
For our errors β€” wrong item shipped, defective fixture, transit damage β€” Mooiehome covers return shipping in full. For change-of-mind returns, the buyer covers the return postage (usually $15–$40 depending on size and weight).
When will my refund land?
Once your return reaches our warehouse and clears inspection (typically 3 business days after arrival), the refund posts back to your original payment method. Most banks reflect the credit within 5–7 business days from there β€” some are faster.
Do you offer exchanges?
Yes β€” within the same 60-day window, on any in-stock fixture, provided the original is in resalable condition. Email us with your order number, the piece you want to keep, and the piece you'd like in its place. We coordinate the swap and the price adjustment in a single round-trip.
Are custom orders returnable?
Custom-dimension and custom-finish orders are made to your exact spec and are final sale β€” an industry-wide standard. We send a written specification before production starts, so every dimension, finish, and detail gets your sign-off before any metal is cut.
05

Products & Quality

Two-year warranty, third-party safety certifications, bulb compatibility, voltage β€” the technical questions worth getting right when a fixture lives over your dining table for ten years.

What materials are your fixtures made from?
Most of our range is built from spun aluminium, solid brass, hand-blown glass, marble, and natural stone, with steel internals where structural strength matters. Each material is chosen for the look it gives and for how well it ages β€” brass develops a patina, marble warms with use, aluminium holds its colour for decades. Specific materials are listed on every product page, finish by finish.
What does the warranty cover?
Every Mooiehome fixture is covered against electrical and structural defects for two years from the date of delivery, under normal residential use. That includes wiring failures, finish peeling, structural cracks, and dimmer driver breakdowns β€” we ship a replacement part or the full fixture, whichever is faster.
What bulbs do your fixtures use?
Most use standard E12 (candelabra), E14 (small Edison), or E26 (medium Edison) screw-base bulbs. Each product page lists the exact socket, max wattage, and our recommended bulb. Most fixtures are LED-friendly and dimmable when paired with a TRIAC-compatible LED.
Why are dimensions listed with a tolerance?
Each fixture is hand-finished, so a tolerance of Β±1–2 cm (about half an inch) on overall dimensions is normal and within spec. When you're planning critical clearances β€” ceiling height, chandelier-to-table distance β€” always include this margin in your measurements.
06

Installation

Hardware, instructions, DIY vs. licensed electrician, and the small details that make the install go cleanly the first time.

Are installation instructions and hardware included?
Yes β€” every box ships with printed step-by-step instructions in English and all required mounting hardware (canopy, screws, anchors, ground wire, mounting bracket). A PDF version is also linked on each product page so you or your electrician can review the install sequence before unboxing.
Can I install a Mooiehome fixture myself?
Plug-in lamps and simple wall sconces are DIY-friendly. For ceiling-mounted chandeliers, pendants, and any hardwired fixture, we strongly recommend a licensed electrician β€” for your safety and to keep the warranty intact. A typical residential install runs about $150–$300 in most US markets.
Do I need a professional electrician?
For any hardwired fixture, yes β€” a licensed electrician is the right call. They'll confirm your junction box can hold the fixture's weight, ground the wiring properly, and ensure the install meets your local electrical code. Improper installation voids both safety certifications and the warranty, so the modest install fee is genuinely worth it.
What if a part is missing from my box?
Email us with your order number and a single photo of the box contents. We ship the missing piece by expedited shipping at no charge, usually within 24 hours of confirming. No need to return what you have β€” keep installing, the missing piece will catch up.
How do I clean and maintain my fixture?
Soft dry microfiber cloth for routine dusting. For brass and bronze, use a non-abrasive metal polish sparingly (every 6–12 months). Glass shades take a damp cloth with mild soap. Fabric shades respond well to a lint roller. Always switch off and let the fixture cool before cleaning. Specific care notes for each material live on the relevant product page.
How high should I hang my pendant or chandelier?
Above a dining table: 30–36 inches between the table surface and the bottom of the fixture. Above a kitchen island: roughly the same. In open rooms, the bottom of the fixture should sit at least 7 feet above the floor for clearance. Each product page lists the included rod or chain length and the maximum drop.
07

Customization

Bespoke dimensions, custom finishes, voltage conversions, and the trade services we provide for designers and project teams.

Can I order custom dimensions, finishes, or wiring?
Yes β€” most of our fixtures can be customized for project use. Email support@mooiehome.com with the project details (dimensions, finish, voltage, ceiling height, install date), and we'll respond with a quote and lead time within 48 hours. A written specification is sent for your approval before production begins.
What's the lead time for custom orders?
Typical custom-spec orders ship in 4–8 weeks. More elaborate pieces β€” oversized chandeliers, hand-cast brass, multi-tier installations β€” may run 10–12 weeks. The exact lead time is confirmed in writing on the spec sheet before any deposit clears.
Do you provide 3D renderings or CAD files?
Yes β€” verified trade accounts get free 3D renderings, CAD files, and finish swatches for spec verification. Email your specifier with the project plans and ceiling layout; renderings come back within 3–5 business days for stocked fixtures, longer for full-custom.
Are custom orders returnable?
Custom-dimension and custom-finish orders are made to your exact spec and are final sale β€” an industry-wide standard. We send a written specification before production begins, so every dimension, finish, and detail gets your sign-off before any metal is cut.
Do you offer trade or wholesale pricing?
Yes. Interior designers, architects, FF&E procurement firms, and verified trade professionals can apply for a trade account at mooiehome.com/pages/trade-account. Approved accounts get volume-tiered pricing, a dedicated specifier, free 3D renderings, and access to custom-spec services.
Can you split a single order across multiple addresses?
Yes β€” for trade and project orders we can split shipments across multiple addresses, consolidate the invoicing, and coordinate delivery windows directly with your on-site GC or installer. Mention the multi-address requirement in your initial quote request so we can plan freight accordingly.
08

Safety & Compliance

Third-party safety certifications, voltage compatibility, household electrical hazards, and the small precautions that keep a fixture safe for kids and pets.

Are your fixtures certified for safety?
Every fixture is UL, CE, FCC, RoHS, SAA, or ETL listed depending on the destination market. Specific certifications appear on each product page and are printed on the box. Test reports issued by accredited third-party laboratories are available on request for trade and project clients.
What's the voltage compatibility?
US fixtures run on 110–120V. Most designs are also available in 220–240V for international markets. Confirm the voltage option on the product page before ordering for non-US locations β€” running a 110V fixture on 220V wiring is unsafe and not covered by warranty.
What electrical safety steps should I take during installation?
Switch off power at the breaker β€” not just the wall switch β€” before touching any wiring. Use a non-contact voltage tester to confirm the wires are dead before connecting. Confirm the junction box is rated for the fixture's weight; replace it if you're unsure. If any of this feels uncertain, hire a licensed electrician. Electricity is unforgiving.
Are your fixtures safe around children and pets?
Yes, when properly installed. All exposed metal is grounded, no toxic finishes are used, and lead/mercury content is restricted under RoHS compliance. We do recommend installing pendants and chandeliers above standard reach height (7+ feet from floor) and using LED bulbs β€” they run significantly cooler than incandescent or halogen alternatives.
Are the fixtures suitable for damp or outdoor locations?
Most of our catalogue is rated for dry indoor use only. Fixtures intended for bathrooms, covered porches, or fully outdoor installation carry an explicit damp-rated or wet-rated label on the product page. Installing a dry-rated fixture in a damp location is unsafe and voids the warranty β€” if you're unsure, email us with the install location and we'll confirm.
What if I notice a safety issue with my fixture?
Stop using it immediately, switch off the breaker, and email support@mooiehome.com with the order number, fixture name, and a clear description of what you've observed (sparking, flickering, unusual heat, exposed wiring). We treat safety reports as our highest priority and respond within hours, not days.
