DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Two materials, one continuous ripple

The vertical flutes of the glass shade echo the reeding of the metal column — so light and metal share one rhythm from top to base. Nothing here is decorative for its own sake: every line guides the eye and shapes the glow.

The Shade

Ribbed optical glass

Thick pressed glass with deep vertical flutes. Each rib acts like a tiny lens, splitting a single bulb into dozens of soft vertical bands of light instead of one harsh point.

The Frame

Reeded gold-tone metal

A weighted, hand-polished gold-tone metal column and disc base. The reeded surface catches light along its length, giving the lamp a reassuring, gallery-piece heft.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

How each lamp is made

Four stages — glass pressing, metal turning, hand-polishing and final assembly — with every piece inspected before it leaves the workshop.

Pressing the glass

Molten glass is pressed into a fluted mold at high temperature, forming the deep vertical ribs in one shot, then slowly annealed to relieve internal stress.

Turning the metal

The column is turned from a solid metal billet on a lathe, its reeded grooves cut by hand — the step that gives the metal its precise vertical texture and substantial feel.

Hand-polishing

Every metal surface is hand-polished and finished in a warm gold tone for a fine, even luster. The disc base is weighted for stability.

Assembly & inspection

Once shade, column and internal wiring are assembled, every lamp is powered on and checked for finish, fit and light quality before it is boxed.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

We didn’t want another “bright” lamp — we wanted a light worth gazing at — like morning light through a slatted blind: soft, ordered, reassuring.

This lamp began with a piece of old pressed glass. Sunlight passing through it broke into vertical bands, and that sense of order became the heart of the design: we carried the flute from the shade down into the metal, so light and metal share one rhythm.

Restraint is how we read “luxury.” No superfluous curves or ornament — only thick glass, warm gold-tone metal, and light re-arranged by the flutes. It is quiet, yet it holds up to being looked at day after day.

Do I need to buy a bulb separately? Which is recommended?

The socket is a common G9 fitting, so you can use any G9 LED bulb you prefer. For the best atmosphere we recommend a 3000K warm-white G9 LED (typically around 3–4W); if you want dimming, choose a bulb labeled “Dimmable.”

Is the shade real glass or acrylic?

It is thick pressed optical glass, not acrylic. That makes it crystal-clear and solid to the touch; unlike acrylic it won’t yellow or scratch easily over time, and a soft cloth keeps it bright.

Is it top-heavy — does it tip over easily?

No. The base is a weighted metal disc with a low, stable center of gravity, and non-slip felt on the bottom keeps it steady on wood or marble without scratching the surface.

Where is the switch — is it convenient?

There is an in-line switch on the cord, so there is no fumbling in the dark for a button on the lamp — reach it from the bed or sofa. Ideal for bedside use.

How do I clean and care for it?

Wipe the glass shade with a slightly damp soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners; dust the metal with a dry cloth, avoiding abrasive or acidic cleaners to protect the gold finish.
