I needed a lamp that my three year old could easily reach and turn on by himself in his bedroom and this works perfectly for that. I cant speak to durability but its inexpensive and works just fine for my needs. It looks pretty nice (not fancy) and simple. It is not very bright, a room may need more lighting to really brighten up the space, but the switch on it makes it very easy for my young child to go into the dark bedroom and instantly make it brighter by himself.
