Are bulbs included?

No — bulbs are sold separately. The Geen-a takes two E27 or E26 medium-base bulbs at 40 watts maximum each. Choose your preferred color temperature (warm or cool) to match the room.

Does it need to be hardwired?

No. The Geen-a is a plug-in floor lamp with a 150 cm / 59″ cord and an inline on/off switch. Plug it into any standard outlet — no electrician required.

What does "modular" actually mean here?

The lamp is built as three separate, replaceable modules — the steel structure, the electrical assembly (sockets, wiring, switch, cord), and the shade. If a part wears out down the line, that piece can be serviced or replaced on its own without retiring the whole fixture.

Why two bulbs instead of one?

Two sockets at 40 W max each give a fuller, more even spread of light than a single bulb of the same total wattage — softer shadows and better ambient fill. You can also run just one bulb if you want a dimmer mood.

The Geen-a began with a question: how much structure does a floor lamp truly need to stand? The answer is three parts — a dome, a stem, a base. Each is pressed from a single material, so the eye never catches a seam or a joint.

What remains is only posture. It stands the way a well-made object should — assured, upright, and perfectly at ease in the room.

From a sketch to a lamp

True minimalism is never the result of subtraction, but the residue of countless choices. This lamp took three years.

The Question

It began by interrogating structure. The team took apart dozens of classic floor lamps to find the parts a lamp genuinely cannot do without — and removed everything else.

The Proportion

The curve of the dome, the thickness of the stem, the height of the base — refined across hundreds of proportional studies, and finally set around a 40 cm shade.

Only steel lets the body be this slender yet stable. Every part converges on one powder-coated steel — with no visible welds and no visible screws.

HOW IT’S MADE

From flat steel to a standing form

Four precise operations turn a coil of raw steel into a finished lamp. Nothing is hidden behind trim — so every step has to be right.

Cut · Spin

A steel disc is metal-spun over a high-speed rotating form into a dome — shaped in one pass, without welds or folds, entirely seamless.

Stem · Form

The stem and the T-shaped top are bent from a single steel rod, then trued by hand so the lamp stands perfectly upright.

Base · Weight

A solid steel cylinder is machined and weighted to anchor the lamp — letting the slender silhouette stand firmly.

Coat · Cure

Parts are degreased, electrostatically powder-coated and oven-cured into an even matte surface — scratch-resistant, fade-resistant, lasting like new.
