Each Akari is handcrafted beginning with the making of washi paper from the inner bark of the mulberry tree. Bamboo ribbing is stretched across sculptural molded wood forms. The washi paper is cut into strips and glued onto both sides of the framework. Once the glue has dried and the shape is set, the internal wooden form is disassembled and removed. The outcome is a resilient paper form, which can be collapsed and packed flat for shipping.

Loved it

I recently purchased a condo that surprisingly lacked ceiling lights. It was a first for me, but this light has been the perfect solution! Absolutely love it.

Installation was a breeze for this light. Positioned it in the corner of my dining room and primarily use it as a night light. Surprisingly, it illuminates not only the dining and living rooms but also casts a soft glow down the hall, which is functional for my needs. While it's smaller than anticipated, the long cord is convenient. Overall, it serves its purpose perfectly.

I'm a bit puzzled by some of the hangups mentioned in other reviews because, for me, this pendant is absolutely perfect. It strikes the ideal balance in terms of size, style, and elegance. It's not too big or too small, nor is it overly flashy. It's just the right fit and incredibly stunning.

It's exactly what I neededa subtle yet effective source of extra light for the table.

Absolutely love my lamp! Super easy to put together, it's light in weight because it's paper, and it gives off really good light I have a color changing bulb in it and it makes for a pretty cool atmosphere.
